Seat, Seatbelt and Roll Cage Mod Plates (LK), Brisbane

Added or removed seats, fitted new seatbelts, child seat anchors or a roll cage? Changes like these usually need an LK mod plate. Autocert inspects and certifies the work. Any good mechanical workshop can do the install, and we sign off the finished job.

What we certify

  • Adding or removing seats and seatbelts (LK1)
  • New or moved seat and seatbelt anchor points (LK2)
  • Child restraint anchors, such as anchor bars and posts, in vehicles without factory points (LK6)
  • One-off roll bars and roll cages (LK8)
  • Fitting approved aftermarket roll bars and cages (LK10)

Typical jobs

  • Rear seats added or removed in a van or 4WD
  • Bucket seats in a classic
  • Child seat anchors in a dual cab
  • A roll bar in a ute or soft top

No plate needed

  • Fitting the factory seat and seatbelt for your make and model
  • Replacing parts with identical original parts

That’s as long as the anchor points, structure and seating capacity don’t change.

Before you book

What to send

  • Rego
  • Seats or belts added, removed or moved
  • Whether child restraint anchors are affected

Do I need a plate to remove a seat?

Yes. Removing seats to reduce seating capacity needs an LK1 plate. Any holes left in the floor must be blanked off, and the removal can’t affect the airbag system.
