If you’ve upgraded your brake system, swapped in bigger calipers, changed the pedal box, or altered the hydraulic configuration—you may require engineering certification under LG Codes.

AutoCert offers full brake system inspection, testing, and certification for light vehicles under VSB14 Section LG, as required by Queensland Transport.

🔧 What Does the LG Section Cover?

Code Description
LG1 Brake System Design Certification – Planning or engineering design of a non-OEM brake setup. Includes custom boosters, master cylinders, pedal relocations, and brake bias valves.
LG2 Brake System Modification Certification – Physical inspection and sign-off after brake system components are modified or installed per a certified LG1 design.

  • 🚗 Swapping drum to disc brakes (non-factory)
  • 🚛 Installing a larger brake booster or moving it to a new location
  • 🔧 Fitting aftermarket master cylinders or adjustable proportioning valves

❌ Modifications That Don’t Require Certification

  • ✅ Fitting a factory brake option for your exact make and model
  • ✅ Installing in-line boosters on pre-ADR 31/35 vehicles
  • ✅ Replacing worn OEM brake parts (like rotors or pads)
